Job Description

The Palfreymans Ltd based in Tansley, Matlock is looking to recruit an apprentice to take on this practical role. Applicants must have a keen interest and passion for Horticulture.

This is very much a practical role and your duties will include:
Carrying out grounds maintenance tasks including mowing, strimming, planting, pruning and weed killing.
Assisting on landscaping projects and ensure all maintenance is carried out on a regular basis.
Able to complete timesheets and ensure all paperwork is handed in on time.
You will act as a representative for the company at all times and must ensure the customer is completely satisfied.
You must comply with all Health and Safety requirements and willing to undertake any other duties required by Management within the job holders competence.
Future prospects
The potential for a permanent position on completion of the apprenticeship.
Things to consider
A large amount of travel is involved and the employer would prefer someone based around Tansley, Matlock area.

Training provider
Training will be provided in the workplace through DART Training where you will work towards a Level 2 standard apprenticeship.
The Apprenticeship is made up of a number of different nationally recognised qualifications which are as follows:
City & Guilds Certificate.
The qualification is made up of a number of mandatory units designed to have a maximum relevance to the job & integrate with the day to day responsibilities.
End assessment, conducted by an independent assessor, which include:
Knowledge test(30% of grading).
Personal statement & portfolio of evidence(20% of grading).
Coursework & practical end assessment 5-6 hours(50% of grading).
There will be 3 levels of achievement Pass, Merit & Distinction.
Functional Skills in English and Maths if needed.
