Job Description

WWT’s Welney Wetland Centre is looking to recruit hardworking and conscientious individuals, with a passion for wetland conservation to work on a casual basis, dual rolling within the catering and retail & admissions department. Duties will involve cash handling, serving customers in the Wigeon Cafe, preparing food, providing visitors with information, dealing with enquiries, working on the admissions desk, welcoming customers, promoting sales, membership and gift aid. Whilst undertaking your daily tasks you will ensure that you provide excellent customer care and adhere to Health and Safety and Food Hygiene regulations to ensure the safety and welfare of colleagues and visitors.

Key Skills :

Essential Educated to a minimum of GSCE (Grade D – G) standard (or equivalent) Ability to be responsible for cash handling Ability to manage and respond to customer feedback as appropriate Ability to comply with Food Safety Management System. Ability to adhere to legislative requirements, in particular: Data Protection and Health and Safety Ability to engage with visitors, living up to the WWT GUEST Customer Service standards Regular and routine contact with other departments Occasional contact with external suppliers, as appropriate Desirable: Food Hygiene Level 2 / Basic Experience of working in a retail or catering environment Experience of working in a team Experience of working with an EPOS till system. Experience of working with a food safety management system (FSMS) Experience of handling cash Industry recognised qualification in Catering e.g. City & Guilds, NVQ, BTEC etc.
