Job Description
Apprentice required on a modern, award-winning 230 cow dairy farm. We are looking for a keen and enthusiastic apprentice to work on this modern, friendly dairy farm. We are offering the chance to gain experience in all aspects of dairy farming.
We are looking for an additional member of staff to help cover our recent expansion. The duties will include;
TMR mixing and feeding
Bedding with a straw chopper
Calf Rearing
Relief milking
Stock work
Tractor driving
Grain and Straw carting
Tele-handler experience
The person will be responsible for mixing the feed and feeding the cows correctly on a daily basis. They will also be feeding some of the calves and checking on their welfare. There will be general farm work and stock handling as associated with a dairy farm.
We will offer training where needed and offer opportunities to go to meetings and gain insight into the management of the business.

Key Skills :
Desired skills The ideal candidate should be enthusiastic and hard-working; experience although preferable is not essential as we will offer on the job training. There will be a large element of tractor driving so a keen interest in machinery would be preferable. The person will be using a telehandler on a daily basis so ideally will have a telehandler certificate, though we can offer training and pay for the person to get this. Personal qualities The person should be able to work in a small team, be able to get on with people and have a good work ethic. Good time keeping is essential as they will be relied upon to cover staff absences. Desired qualifications GCSE in English and Maths A-G or equivalent PLEASE STATE YOUR GRADES OR YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE DECLINED
