About The Role

At V12 Retail Finance, our bespoke software is the leading system in the UK for providing point of sale retail finance and is integrated into hundreds of web sites and till systems across many retail sectors. The development team are responsible for keeping the solution at the leading edge and to join us on this journey, we are now recruiting an experienced Developer.

What you will do

Working as part of our IT team based in Cardiff, you will be developing web applications in the latest versions of C#, MVC, Angular, JavaScript and jQuery interacting with SQL Server databases. You will build scalable and efficient SQL to interact with the database servers and develop unit tests that cover 80% plus of the code base. You will also work closely with the Solutions Architect to ensure solutions are developed with maintainability and security at the heart.

As a Developer at V12, you will be responsible for producing a quality end product that is fit for purpose in the 24/7 world V12 operates. You will work closely with the support team, resolving escalations and diagnosing issues or bugs.

To ensure the smooth running of the IT team, you will be required to document solutions that other Developers can easily pick up, seek to automate repetitive tasks to reduce workload across the business and be confident working in a fast-paced company.

What you will bring

You will have current experience of working with C#, MVC, JavaScript, jQuery, SQL and WCF. You will have a passion for developing high quality software in the latest technology and ability to work as part of a small but busy IT Team in a fast-paced, growing company.

You will have excellent IT and literacy skills and be confident in working in Scrum and Kanban, have proven logical trouble shooting and problem solving skills and the ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload effectively.

Desirable but not essential:

• Experience in VB.Net
• AngularJS, competent front end (HTML, CSS) skills
• Previous exposure to the VSTS and Redgate SQL Toolbelt (as each Developer is provided with SQL Toolbelt and full MSDN subscription from day one)
