Senior Network Architect
6 months - to start immediately
£500/day umbrella £430/day Ltd
Based in Milton Keynes
Our client is a well established Nationwide Rail company whose professionalism and well respected name have been instrumental in their success.They provide an exceptional service to their customers and are focused on continually improving this.
•Our client is looking for a Lead Architect who can work on the overall strategic direction, someone who has undertaken more overall enterprise network architecture work.
•Typical Enterprise environment - managed networks - Lots of offices, data centres and cloud facilities attached to this Corporate project
•This role will be working on the restructuring of the network and updating of the network. This can be over complex and they have new technologies being introduced
•Working on those requirements to facilitate to improvement of the network performance. This is the driver.
•This team looks after the fixed networks form architectural perspective.
•They will be working alongside a project team and PM who has been bought on to specifically to assist this transformation.
•They will need to engage with contractors, suppliers, third parties and internal stakeholders
•An element of this role will be around Consultancy to help set the direction. They''ll need detailed knowledge to support the team
•Some new technologies are in already in place. There may be room to offer recommendations and support on this
You will need:
Essential
•They should have more experience in identifying requirements / determining target network architecture strategy (based on those requirements).
•Experience of developing function/non function requirements specifications for equipment / services tenders, etc.
•Experience of corporate enterprise networks protocols
•Mainly Cisco technologies - Switches/Routers
•Cisco certifications would be best to have.
•R&S, Wireless, Routing Protocols etc
•Would be good to have experience in Juniper firewalls, VOIP and an understanding of Mitel
•IBM, PM and Rail experience are not entirely necessary
