Joinery Production Manager

Joinery Production Manager required to for local housing company to manage the joinery Shop and employees. You will be working for leading, growing, independent housing association. Being the largest housing landlord with over 16,000 properties providing homes to over 35,000 people in Plymouth, also with commercial property being landlord to over 170 shops.

The Production Manager will be responsible for scheduling and allocating production, managing work to ensure it is carried out in accordance to schedules including management of staff including disciplinary matters and identification of training needs. You will ensure the manufacturing section is managed within current legislation, policies, procedures, practice guidelines and to set quality standards for performance.

You will also be responsible for ensuring that the production/ installation/ stores are cost effective, proactively identify where efficiencies can be made and processes can be improved, preparation of management reports including providing statistics and information relating to job costs and claims and provision of financial and performance monitoring information of the Joinery Shop

You will work as part of the Manufacturing Services Management Team which includes Contribution to other colleagues work, Leadership of projects and initiatives as necessary, Representing the departments as appropriate and Deputise for Head of Service when required.

You will have experience in a manufacturing and or joinery environment including liaising with and providing support and advice to staff at all levels of the business. Experience of planning and organising work in meeting exacting and short deadlines and targets and a proven track record of financial and budgetary management including the preparation of budgets and forecasts is essential. You will have an NVQ3 in a wood occupation or equivalent qualification or experience. As the production Manager you will be required to have a Full Driving Licence and the ability to drive a company vehicle.
