Category Manager
Cardiff - up to £45k DOE + benefits
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an experienced Category Manager to join a well known, established organisation. Although the role is based in Cardiff, you will only be required in the office approximately 2 days per week and can work remotely outside of the 2 days.
The role
- Support with building the strategy and responsible for the implementation of that strategy
- Collaborate and work closely with various teams around the business including, Insights, Product Management, Marketing, International Sales, Gifting and Precious Metals to identify and advise on various License opportunities
- Provide technical training to junior support team members and cross functional teams
- Collaborate with the Legal Team to manage Intellectual Property due diligence required on projects
- Lead, execute and manage all contract negotiations with licensees and distributors to maximise and secure best commercial (royalty and contract) license solutions
- Actively manage and ensure relationship engagement with new and existing licensors, escalating any key risks or issues to the relevant stakeholders
- Gather and report market intelligence on licensors and competitor propositions and advise
Skills/Experience Required
- Degree level education in a related field
- Demonstrable previous experience of working with Licensors
- Demonstrable previous experience of identifying and understanding Intellectual Property requirements, risks and restrictions in Licensing.
- Ability to be agile in order to capitalise on potential opportunities whilst identifying new opportunities
- Strong demonstrable experience of contract negotiations
- Proven key account management experience and building effective relationships
- Ability to work collaboratively with various departments
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
- Financially and IT literate
- Ability to travel UK & Overseas
