History Teacher - Preston

Maternity Cover - Starting October/November

History Teacher required for next academic year. The School enjoys an excellent reputation and sees the calibre of its staff as a key strength. Joining a high achieving department, you will be responsible for teaching History up to KS4. The role is to start October/ November and will operate, full time.

We have a vacancy for a confident, enthusiastic, suitably qualified and experienced teacher of History, to join a successful department to cover maternity leave. This role is suitable for both NQT''s and experienced teachers.

The successful candidate will: * be an excellent History teacher across the full age and ability range * have a passionate commitment to making History stimulating and relevant for all * be familiar with Key Stages 3 and 4 of the National Curriculum and GCSE requirements * bring real energy and dynamism to the role, alongside genuine enthusiasm for your subject * be a skilled ICT practitioner and be comfortable using data to inform planning and intervention

Would be desirable if you have experience teaching AQA including units on:

Germany
Conflict and tension - inter war years
Power and the People
Elizabethan EnglandYou will be required to plan and prepare all lessons whilst differentiating in pupil ability. You will also be required to mark and assess all work ensuring that pupils are progressing in line with their target grades. This role is also open to NQTs.
