Systems Accountant

Systems Accountant - Initial 6 month contract - Flexible working

Our client is an award winning, well-established, profitable, services business based near Macclesfield, Cheshire with an enviable blue chip client base.

A high calibre qualified accountant is sought initially for a 6 month fixed term contract which could lead to a permanent position for the right candidate.

The individual will provide project support to the Finance Director and wider team on a range of key change projects and commercial tasks.

The main project is an IT change project, where our client is embarking on a significant company wide IT initiatives. This will include development of its in-house proprietary system and its financial reporting packages.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for systems and processes and have a proven track record of developing/improving financial/operating systems and getting systems connected via API links. They will possess excellent process mapping skills aimed at streamlining process and automating existing manual processes. An understanding of cloud-based accounting packages & previous experience of integrating these into established business proprietary systems is a distinct advantage.

In addition to the main IT change project, the candidate will be expected to support the Finance Director on a wide range of other commercial and financial tasks including:-

* Review and redesign of existing monthly MI reporting procedures

* Review and redesign of existing budgeting & forecasting procedures (P&L, Balance Sheet & Cash Flow)

* Review of income and cost recognition processes and how that information is effectively captured in the business

The successful candidate will be highly motivated and confident with first class technical and interpersonal skill sets. You will be analytical, driven and ambitious with a true "can do…will do" attitude. Excellent IT skills are a must and will include advanced Excel and complex modelling experience. Previous experience in job costing and cost allocation against multiple projects would also be highly desirable.
