Job Description

Contract opportunity to join a Large international multi-site business at their global head office in Manchester. They are currently looking for an Experienced and highly capable Interim Year-end Financial Accountant for a period of 4 months to provide assistance to the Financial Controller to manage the year-end audit, statutory accounts and tax computation process.

Given the government''s current guidance to work from home where possible, the expectation is that the assignment can be fulfilled remotely until such time as the current restrictions are lifted.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified ACA/ACCA with up to date accounting technical knowledge and recent experience of statutory accounts preparation and audit as well as tax analysis for tax computation purposes

Day to day duties include assisting the Financial Controller in managing the year-end statutory accounts close, and audit;

* Process as well as the year-end tax computation process

* Liaise with the external auditors to understand audit requirements and deliver audit workings,

* Reconciliations, P&L, balance sheet and tax analysis, sample testing data to the agreed timetable

* In conjunction with the Finance Manager, Group Accountant and Divisional Management

* Accountants review and validate the year-end trial balances

* In conjunction with the Finance Manager, Group Accountant and Divisional Management

* Accountants - ensure all year-end balance sheet reconciliations are completed,

* Validated and presented in a statutory format (as opposed to divisional) for the external auditors

* Create/update a statutory basis group consolidation excel model

* Create/update "tax pack" information required for the external tax advisors

* Create working papers to support notes, narrative and disclosure to the group and individual statutory accounts for 6 legal entities

* Assist the Financial Controller to manage the group statutory audit process and production of all UK statutory accounts in conjunction with the external auditors

* Liaise with the Financial Controller at a subsidiary based in Chorley to provide support (as required) for the production of information for their subsidiary statutory accounts

* Complete any ad hoc duties as requested by the CFO/Group Financial Controller

* Deliver an effective handover and knowledge transfer

This is a 6 month assignment with a view of starting on the 1st March. A technically strong financial accountant is required with a background dealing with consolidated accounts prep.
