Buyer/Inventory & Vendor Manager (Engineering/Manufacturing) - Glasgow, UK
Basic salary: £30,000 per annum + company benefits
A new vacancy for a Buyer - Inventory & Vendor Manager with small UK division of a global US manufacturer of precision components used in a wide range of industrial markets. Based at the company''s divisional site in Glasgow, the Buyer - Inventory & Vendor Manager will be responsible for purchasing/planning activities in area including Materials Resource Planning, Inventory Management and Vendor Performance Monitoring.
Key responsibilities:
To manage the stocking strategy of the X,Y & Z finished goods class stock to ensure the optimum balance between stock availability for market leading lead times, the tie up of cash and the risk of excess and obsolete stock.
To manage the raw material stock levels to support the manufacturing lead time strategy against the same criteria of tied up cash and risk of excess and obsolete stock.
Take responsibility for Vendor performance, On time delivery , set up of new vendors and maintenance of documents associated with all stocked and non stocked.
Set up MRP for all Vendor contracts and stocking agreements
Negotiate price contracts with major suppliers
Set up MRP for the PFEP for all A-class Items
Candidate requirements:
Analytical, good attention to detail
Previous Stock Control database knowledge
Good Interpersonal skills
CIPS or working towards qualification
Good negotiating skills
Fully conversant with Procurement procedures
Good working knowledge of PFEP / MRP Systems
