Job Purpose:

Here at the SL Shop we have a long history of servicing and restoring classic Mercedes-Benz models, and have a reputation for excellence across all aspects of the business.

This role is for a new team member to join the expanding purchasing team.

With a large inventory of parts and customers all over the world, we require an experienced and enthusiastic Purchasing Manager to grow our inventory of parts, keep on top of company supply needs, purchase the best quality parts available, build mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers and deliver ongoing savings and purchasing efficiencies. Supervising a team and communicating with management in order to contribute to our overall company vision and objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

Establish and implement purchasing policies, procedures and best practices, monitoring ongoing compliance.

Ensure all items are purchased and delivered within budget and time constraints.

Identify and source new suppliers, manufacturers and vendors.

Work to develop the supplier database that delivers best value to the business and our customers.

Adherence to company pricing policies.

Manage vendor and supplier selection process based on price, quality, support, capacity and reliability.

Develop and maintain strategic relationships with key suppliers and vendors.

Introduction of new product lines to the inventory.

Inventory growth, stock management and reporting.

Monitor the health of dedicated supplier portfolios, minimising exposure to supply risks and developing contingency plans.

Monitor, measure and manage supplier cost, quantity, quality and delivery performance.

Oversee supplier compliance with internal quality standards and external regulations.

Troubleshoot cost, quality and delivery concerns.

Product warranty management.

Work with relevant departments to manage inventory requirements.

Facilitate timely placement of purchase orders.

Develop and manage purchasing budgets and forecasts.

Monitor and reduce purchase variances to meet profit objectives.

Produce regular reports on purchase department activity, KPI''s, progress, planning and problems.

Maintain detailed information relating to vendors, market conditions, performance and risk.

Oversee the operations and daily activities of the purchasing department including system advancements.

Manage, develop, train and motivate the purchasing team.

Direct continuous improvement of purchasing processes in line with changing organisational needs and market conditions.

Strong leadership skills with a passion to drive multiple projects forward in a fast-paced deadline driven environment.
