Job Description

Recruiting a Senior Support Worker to join our Homelessness Service in Kensington and Chelsea!

£23,000 per annum, 40 hours per week, plus 25 days Annual Leave, Pension schemes, Staff discounts, healthcare and more.

Cromwell Road is a 54-bed hostel for adult men who are street homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. As a medium-high level service addressing a range of complex needs - including substance misuse and mental health - it supports customers with issues such as life skills, health, training and employment, developing their ability to maintain tenancy and live independently in the community. The hostel is staffed 24/7 and works in partnership with on-site alcohol and drug services.

The post holder will be fully involved in all aspects of the day to day support of service KPI on housing management, move-on coordination with RBKC move-on officer through PRS pathway. Lead and develop customer''s independent living skills and readiness to move into the community, competence of direct reports as well as carry caseloads of customers requiring support. You will work closely with the team leader, Contract Manager to ensure that the service delivers on all targets, both financial and those around the quality of the service.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead and motivate team in maintenance of a positive local culture within CR service
- Deliver effective support & needs assessment of move-on plan and support the team to implement RBKC move-on protocol in the service.
- Responsible for managing external relationship of service with move-on officers at RBKC working in partnership to achieve the objective set in throughput contractual obligation.
- Ensure that all referrals in the service are prioritised following our local policy and procedures to fill the voids and reduce waiting times.
- Lead on weekly updates and support management to ensure frontline desk staffs are supported to carry out their roles effectively.
- Participate in and monitor the initial and continuous assessment of needs and ensure that support planning is carried out in line with assessed needs of the customer
- Carry out other administrative tasks as relevant to the service and directed by the Contract/Heads of Operations
- Lead on move-on viewing, support customers to attend viewing and tenancy sustainment for 1 month after move to set up their bills etc.
- Lead on activities in the service that improve independent living, support activity groups in the service, cooking group, art group, etc.
- Ensure Look Ahead Health and Safety policies are adhered to at all times and to uphold all health and safety responsibilities within relevant policies and local protocols
- Adhere to all the policies and procedures of Look Ahead Care, Support & Housing plus those specific to the project including any statutory requirements

Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

Essential:
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent experience in the social
