OVERVIEW:
Edwards & Pearce are proud to be partnering with one of the UKs most successful automotive transport companies. They are looking to recruit a dynamic Transport/Route Coordinator to work within their team. This will be a vital role in a fast paced environment dealing with a team of drivers on a daily basis.

THE ROLE

As a Transport/Route Coordinator, your duties will include but not be limited to:

-Allocating drivers to specific routes and journeys across North Kent and throughout the UK
-To ensure the liaison between the transport function and the yard functions is maintained and there is a smooth flow of communication.
-Co-ordinating the most efficient use of drivers within the wider team, in order to achieve total driver utilisation.
-Maximising drivers available hours whilst staying, at all times, within drivers hours legislation.
-Monitoring and managing driver performance against expectations and challenge inefficiencies or poor practices.
-Observing driver adherence to best practice through the use of internal vehicle tracking systems.
-Co-ordinating with the handling agent at collection delivery points to resolve any issues to minimise driver delays.
-Ensure daily communication with drivers takes place to confirm workload expectations and achievement timescales.
-Planning all drivers'' workloads and ensuring scheduled maintenance is met in line with company requirements.
-Routing the drivers in a way that minimises any empty mileage.

THE CANDIDATE

-A good knowledge of UK geography.
-Experience in the use of a Traffic Planning System.
-Previous experience in a Driver Liaison, Traffic Planning, or fleet management.
-A good understanding of Drivers'' working time legislation.
-Proficient user of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Vision knowledge would also be an advantage
-Excellent communication skills and experience of dealing with drivers on a daily basis
