Transport Planner

Recruit4staff are proud to be representing their client, a leading distribution company in their search for a transport planner to work in their transport office in Wrexham.

For the successful transport planner our client is offering:
i. £26,000 to £30,000 per annum
ii. Day shifts 8.00am - 17.30pm
iii. Permanent Role
iv. Free parking

The role - Transport Planner:
i. Plan 3rd party deliveries and collections plan trailer swaps. (Recycling changeovers and Maintenance requirements).
ii. Plan deliveries/collections and product delivery schedules
iii. Route multi-drop runs prior to the warehouse picking
iv. Monitor drivers and adjust planned work accordingly
vi. Negotiate rates prior to accepting work ensuring Transport Manager or Director agree and have been kept informed
vii. Negotiate additional charges for re-routing
viii. Ensuring Transport Manager or Director agree and have been kept informed.

What our client is looking for in a transport planner :
i. Proven work experience within a similar role with a steady work history Knowledge of WTD and driver breaks - ESSENTIAL
ii. Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
iii. Knowledge and experience of using Quartix - ESSENTIAL
iv. Excellent administration and IT skills with the ability to use Microsoft packages confidently
