Responsibilities:
We are seeking an individual with Litigation experience who is highly motivated, driven to succeed in a team environment and someone who is willing to take on board and implement the training and coaching provided to be the best agent they can be. You will be responsible for collecting debt payments, fairly assessing customers'' personal circumstances, using your judgment when setting up debt repayment plans with customers, regularly reviewing accounts, issuing letters before action, submitting legal claims, handling admissions, part admissions, defences, mediation, and small claims via Court. You will also need to ensure customers'' accounts are accurate and up-to-date and will have a pivotal role in continuing to provide excellent service to our customers.

* Contacting customers by both telephone, email and letter to arrange the repayment of outstanding debts and responding to customer queries.

* This will include both inbound and outbound phone-calls, where daily targets are in place.

* Processing of payments via the telephone and where necessary, negotiate new payment plans with customers aligned to individual circumstances, whilst ensuring the overall company bad debt charge is protected at all times.

* Reviewing repayments arrangements are maintained by the customer as agreed.

* Account management.

* Manage and resolve difficult or challenging conversations with integrity and professionalism.

* Ensure full transparency with the customer regarding their debt situation and potential future consequences and impact.

* Treat all customers fairly and work to the best of your ability to reach a fair resolution.

* Identify and highlight through internal processes where customer affordability/vulnerability issues are likely to make maintaining their account in-line with any agreement with Utility Point challenging.

* Build effective relationships within all areas of the business and work in a collaborative and professional manner.

* Ensure that allocated Pre/Post Litigation Claim cases are appropriately assessed, managed and conducted in a proactive and commercially focused manner.

* Work alongside colleagues within the Debt team, minimising litigation for existing customers, resolving contractual disputes pre-proceedings and dealing with contested matters.

* Issue CCJs, prepare and issue Statutory Demands, as well as enforcing money judgements.

* Undertake effective due diligence processes

* Compliant and aware of our GDPR regulations, i.e. handling sensitive customer data.

Required Skills & Experience:

* Experience within debt recovery & litigation - ideally within utilities but not essential. Able to work well under pressure and are responsive to change.

* You have experience of working within an operational environment whilst being both inquisitive and a keen problem solver. Ability to multi-task, adapt to multiple demands and shifting/competing priorities.

* Ability to respond to all calls and enquiries promptly and professionally, whilst achieving targets and objectives set out by the management team.

* Excellent communication skills; written, verbal and interpersonal. You work well as part of a team and enjoy working closely with other Utility Point colleagues to achieve both team and departmental goa
