Solicitor - Head of Family

My client is looking for a Head of Family Solicitor with 5+ years PQE to join their office in either Bridgwater, Taunton or Yeovil.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual to establish themselves as an expert in the field and take the Department on to the next level.

They are a dynamic, forward thinking law firm with their roots firmly in the South West region. They have been serving the local community for nearly 100 years and structure their business around client needs. They pride themselves on offering excellent personal service, being very approachable and fully understanding of client situations whilst providing practical and authoritative advice.

This is a busy role and in addition to managing an existing caseload of private matrimonial, children and finance work you will be responsible for the business development of the Department as well as leading a team of fee earning and support staff who carry their both publicly funded and private work.

As Head of Family you will play a key role in growing the business by marketing yourself and the Department to the full potential. Resourceful, dynamic and highly motivated, you will be proactive and driven to take advantage of new business opportunities.

Leading by example you will be an ambassador for the Firm and a champion of their promise. Results-orientated you will encourage high performance and the development of your team and will be an exceptional communicator at all levels.

You will demonstrate enviable experience within Family law with experience of dealing with private matrimonial, children and finance work but also experience or knowledge of Legal Aid work would be advantageous too.

Essential Requirements

• Senior Solicitor or Partner with at least 5 years PQE Experience

• Experience of managing and developing a team

• Possess first-class communication skills

• Proven business development skills

• A transferable client base is not essential but advantageous

• The successful applicant will also be a vehicle owner and hold a full driving licence
