Fleet Maintenance Controller
Darlington
The Fleet Maintenance Controller position at Northgate is an integral role to the business, within a contact centre environment, overseeing vehicle maintenance procedures across the group and delivering set business targets through maximising the effectiveness and efficiency of the resource and assets available to you. Your role begins with making sure you are ''Operating the Northgate Way'' to ensure a high level of consistency and service for our customers across the UK. You are a high performing individual, who effectively plans, demonstrates logical thinking, and utilises the resource and assets available in the best way, reviewing performance and driving continuous improvement. Working closely with the external suppliers and workshop teams, you will deliver a consistent and outstanding support through all aspects of maintenance control.
About you
You come from a mechanical background - time served in the motor industry experience is essential, understanding diagnosis of vehicle repairs, to ensure all work is carried out in line with legislation and compliance
You have an inquisitive yet logical approach - interrogate diagnosis of vehicle repairs to ensure labour times and costs are minimised and to highlight any non-compliance where necessary
Experienced as a maintenance controller working primarily with LCV''s and cars. LGV experience is desirable.
Be able to communicate and negotiate with suppliers across the service, maintenance, and repair sectors from front line staff to senior management
Ensure the road worthiness and safety of all vehicles managed
Manage client''s expectations and maintain high service levels
Manage mechanical repairs remotely and ensure they are carried out correctly
Make decisions and solve problems concerning mechanical, warranty and tyre issues
Monitoring of vehicles on downtime, informing customers of latest information. Assist with hire vehicles where required.
Use of Microsoft Office - Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams etc.
Experience of ''1Link Service Network'' system advantageous
