Job Description

Our Client, a World recognised and respected Automotive OEM Manufacturer based in rural Warwickshire are actively seeking a Project Engineer - Powertrain Electrification - Functional Safety, Cybersecurity & EMC on a permanent basis.

On offer to the successful candidate is a negotiable (albeit dependent on relevant experience) basic salary, together with a full flexible benefits package, to include a discount lease car option and bonus.

In this role, you will be responsible for the planning and on-time delivery of functional safety, cybersecurity and EMC compliance for all Powertrain Electrification components and systems from concept to production across all vehicle programmes.

Your responsibilities & duties will include:

To be the main point of contact and primary source of knowledge on Functional Safety, Cybersecurity and EMC topics within the Powertrain Electrification department.
Collaborating with the wider business and its engineering partners from concept to production for the on-time and on-budget delivery of Functional Safety, Cybersecurity and EMC requirements
Developing short-term and long-term strategies for Functional Safety, Cybersecurity and EMC compliance considering the type of programmes, the features, competition and future trends estimating the timing and resource needs.
Taking responsibility for resolution of all Powertrain Electrification Functional Safety, Cybersecurity and EMC component and system issues on all programmes.
Coordinate Functional Safety, Cybersecurity and EMC comparison studies for any 3rd party activities and evaluate RFQ responses to influence management decisions
Own and maintain Functional Safety, Cybersecurity and EMC requirements specifications
Lead the technical assessment of the impact of Functional Safety, Cybersecurity and EMC requirements on components and negotiate solutions with system owners
Support technical suppliers who are delivering Functional Safety, Cybersecurity and EMC related features to ensure compliant and timely delivery
DVP: Developing and implementing testing procedures; defining appropriate test objectives; defining instrumentation and data acquisition methods; supporting the definition of appropriate test measurement equipment; guiding test technicians and engineers; writing and issuing technical reports against each completed test; developing and recording best practices; supporting development of DVP testing process manuals to handle the Powertrain Electrification requirements of today and the future
Quality: Identifying & containing potential quality concerns using engineering quality systems (FMEAs, Robustness Studies);
Cost: Establishing Functional Safety, Cybersecurity and EMC testing programme budgets; monitoring and controlling spend throughout to ensure effective use of funds to complete work within budget.
Communication: Establishing regular Functional Safety, Cybersecurity and EMC reviews with cross functional teams.
FMA: Supporting sub-system DFMEA teams and ensure Functional Safety, Cybersecurity and EMC test results are responded to the DFMEA owner.
Concerns System: Using eCMS concerns process to report and resolve all Functional Safety, Cybersecurity and EMC issues.
Qualifications & Experience ideally required:

Should dieally be educated to Degree level in a relevant Engineering discipline, although lesser qualifications and plenty of relevant experience may be considerd.
Will have knowledge of all relevant vehicle legislation and certification requirements for Functional Safety, Cybersecurity and EMC.
Will be experienced in managing the successful delivery of Functional Safety for Powertrain Electrification systems for hybrid and/or electric vehicles (including demonstrated technical knowledge and understanding of ISO 26262).
Should understand cybersecurity requirements procedures for hybrid and/or electric vehicles (ISO/SAE 2
