Based near Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, Signscope Design is looking for a dedicated, sign maker/fitter to join us and help grow this ambitious business.
Reporting directly to the founder/owner, this is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to further progress in this industry.
The Job
The successful candidate will have at least 2 years'' proven experience in all aspects of sign making and fitting including cast vinyl and vehicle wrapping; both part and full wraps. The ideal applicant will be a good all-rounder with strong design skills and creativity.
You must be hard working, have excellent attention to detail, be positive and self-motivated with an enthusiastic approach. Our expanding customer base and high workload mean you will need to be comfortable working under pressure to meet tight deadlines while maintaining high quality output.
This is a permanent role, 37.5 hours a week. Contracted hours are 9am - 5pm but flexibility will sometimes be necessary i.e., early mornings / late evenings and occasional weekends with travel as and when required. When this is the case, hours worked outside contracted hours will be paid in overtime or time off in lieu (TOIL).
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Make all types of signs and graphics using Signlab and Adobe illustrator software, Graphtec and mimaki vinyl plotters, mimaki large format printer & easy mount laminator, heat press equipment.
* Use digging tools including generator, pipe and cable scanners, breakers, post hole diggers, spades and shovels.
* Install all types of signs, banners, large format print including wallpaper / wall wraps and vehicle graphics (including vehicle wrapping). Installations will be both inside and outside in all weather conditions, often working at height using access equipment, ladders, scaffolding towers, etc both at Signscope Design''s workshop and throughout the country at customer premises.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment in the workshop, company vehicles and on customer premises following all health and safety procedures.
* Wrap, pack and deliver/arrange delivery of signs/graphics to site.
* Deliver ''attention to detail'' throughout and follow strict quality control procedures.
* Maintain a clean and tidy personal appearance. Develop and give high levels of customer service over the phone, via email, face to face and especially when on customer premises.
* Be friendly, committed and professional throughout all aspects of the role.
* Work independently and as part of a team; using your own initiative and having a can-do attitude.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS
* At least 2 years'' experience in the Sign Industry.
* Proven ability to apply vehicle graphics including using cast vinyl and experience of part and full vehicle wraps.
* A Full UK driving licence (preferably clean) is essential.
* Computer literate.
* Experience of hot and cold laminating using easy mount single hot laminator.
* Knowledge of using digging tools to include generator, pipe and cable scanners, breakers, post hole diggers, spades and shovels.
* Knowledge of working within Covid compliant standards.
* Good command of the English Language.
DESIRED REQUIREMENTS
- Good DIY skills
- Design skills
- CSCS, PASMA and IPAF would be beneficial but not essential.
- First Aid training
- Health and Safety awareness/certification
- CDT or Art and Design experience
- Experience of workwear printing.
