Job Description

My client are now recruiting a Management Accountant to join their team, you. The successful applicant will be reporting into the Financial Controller. This is a multi-disciplinary role requiring working closely with the finance team and other departments within the business. As Management Accountant, you will play an important role in ensuring that all statutory and compliance requirements are met. You will have at least 5 years finance experience with a relevant accounting qualification i.e., CIMA, ACCA, ACA. Offering a superb salary of up to £35 - £38k DOE, plus superb benefits. Lincoln.

THE ROLE:

Preparation of the monthly management accounts, to include revenue & gross margin reporting and supporting analysis.
Tracking profitability of all projects and undertaking regular reviews with CSMs to assess and analyse project performance, leading regular formal contract profitability meetings with the MD and CSMs to inform the CSM bonus calculation.
Maintaining balance sheet reconciliations for deferred income, accrued income, CoS accruals and Stock and WIP nominal codes (i.e., codes directly pertaining to revenue and gross margin).
Supervising Assistant Management Accountant and Accounts Assistant to ensure timely and accurate reporting of overheads and review fixed asset, prepayment, accrual, control account and other relevant balance sheet reconciliations.
Supporting the Group Sales Director with Sales Order Intake reporting and variance analysis and performing quarterly sales commission calculation reviews.
Production of monthly/quarterly forecasts, annual budget and long-range plans updates.
Oversee business partnering across the entire Finance Team to ensure regular liaison with budget/cost centre holders to ensure accuracy of forecasts, in addition to engagement, ownership and accountability for financial performance of respective cost centres.
Partner with and assist the Sales Support and CSM teams in project costing, forecasting and profitability analysis, providing full life-cycle support from quote through to project completion.
Act as the key point of contact with the external payroll agency, with responsibility for:
Producing the payroll summary spreadsheet, calculating and entering gross inputs.
Prepare and file monthly VAT returns

Key skills and attributes required:

Have excellent IT skills, particularly in Excel.
Previous experience of working within a manufacturing / engineering commercial environment.
Part Qualified / Newly qualified with relevant accounting qualification (e.g., CIMA, ACCA, ACA)
A minimum of 5 years finance experience.
Experience of computerised accounting packages
Be highly organised and efficient, able to manage own workload.
Excellent communication skills
Customer focussed individual with the ability to build strong relationships.
Proven experience project management and delivery.
