Position: Housekeeper

Salary Banding: £8.91 - £10.00 per hour (dependent on qualification/s and experience)

Hours: Full time / Permanent / Mon-Fri / 40 hours

Location: Crouch End, London

We are currently recruiting for a passionate Housekeeper to join our wonderful Bright Horizons Crouch End Fields Day Nursery and Preschool. Our nursery is situated in Crouch End/ Haringey, London.

Our 88-place nursery is proudly Ofsted rated ''Good''. Our nursery consists of 5, spacious base rooms in the nursery, all based on the ground floor. The nursery also features two gardens and an off road car park!

The nursery has recently undergone a full refurbishment, including the gardens!

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

To provide housekeeping service which creates a clean and orderly environment for our families and staff that will become a critical factor in maintaining and strengthening our reputation. This role requires working in collaboration with others and taking responsibility for working in line with regulatory requirements and BH policies and procedures

KEY TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Keep the Nursery a clean and safe environment for the children, staff and families

* Encourage and model behaviour which is appropriate in a child environment being professional at all times adhering to our Heart Principles

* To maintain a high standard of cleanliness and hygiene of the children''s bathroom and nappy change areas throughout the day

* To carry out daily laundry duties as required

* To respond appropriately to issues requiring confidentiality: for example being aware of personal information regarding children

* Support, promote and implement policies and procedures

* Work in co-operation and partnership with the Nursery team, providing high standards of cleaning to ensure the smooth running of the nursery day

* Be prepared to help where needed, including undertaking of certain domestic tasks within the nursery e.g. supporting over meal times and cleaning of equipment

* Ensuring products and materials are appropriate for a nursery environment and stored and used in line with COSHH guidelines.

* To take reasonable care of yourself and others and to comply with company Health and Safety guidelines whilst understanding the importance of keeping everyone safe and the part you play.

* Demonstrate a proactive approach using your initiative and showing resilience to take responsibility for getting things done

EXPERIENCE (DESIRABLE):

* Experience of working within the cleaning industry

* Experience of using cleaning products and equipment

KNOWLEDGE (DESIRABLE):

* Sound knowledge of COSHH

* Understanding of Health & Safety requirements

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES (ESSENTIAL):

* Sufficient understanding and use of English to ensure the well-being of the children, for example you must be able to summon emergency help and to understand instructions, to ensure our compliance with paragraph 3.26 of the EYFS

* Good written and verbal communication

* High standards of cleanliness and hygiene practices
