Job Description

South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust is looking to appoint three Non-Executive Directors with different recruitment criteria to enhance the Board.

The ideal Non-Executive candidate will have a successful track record and Board/Senior-level experience in large, complex organisations. They will demonstrate capability in strategic thinking and the ability to challenge, influence and build consensus on a wide range of issues.

One post requires an Accounting qualification with senior level experience to support, and later chair, the Trust''s Audit Committee.

The second post will require an understanding of topical issues affecting Social Care and the NHS.

The third post requiring commercial and business experience in a large complex environment.

To be successful all candidates should also demonstrate a good understanding of the health care agenda.

To be appointed as a Non-Executive Director a person must be a Member of the Public Constituency of the Trust.

The Trust operates both acute and community services out of a number of sites across Warwickshire, including Warwick and Stratford Hospitals and Leamington Spa Rehabilitation Hospital. It has a budget of circa £360m and employs around 5124 staff. The organisation continues to be in good financial health as it continues on its journey of transformation, delivering high quality, cost effective and integrated local health services.

At the last inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), the Trust was given the highest rating of ''Outstanding'' in all areas. The Trust is the only general acute and community provider in the West Midlands region, and one of only 10 nationally, to receive the prestigious ''Outstanding'' rating. It confirms that the care provided to local people is amongst the very best in the NHS.

The changing environment in which the NHS operates means that we will be considering opportunities for strategic working with key partners across the health and social care economy, while at the same time identifying new business opportunities for the Trust. This is an exciting opportunity for a strategic thinker and strong team player to join us in exploring innovative solutions as well as providing additional constructive challenge as a non-executive member of an excellent and high performing Board.

Remuneration will be £13,000pa/£15,000pa for the Chair of Audit Committee, plus travel and subsistence reimbursement in line with Trust policy, for an average time commitment of 4 days per month.

The Trust is committed to promoting equality of opportunity and wishes to encourage applications from individuals with a diversity of backgrounds. The Trust will ensure that all applicants receive equal consideration irrespective of gender, ethnic origin, religion or belief, disability, sexual orientation, or age.
