Job Description

Assistant Consultant - 6 Months FTC - £20,254 per annum pro rata - Cardiff
Our client is looking for someone to build a large client relationship, managing large volume of tasks where we will need candidates to be confident and prioritise as well as make decisions.

Responsibilities:
Business Management and Delivery
* Undertakes administrative tasks for a project or internal service/function
* Undertakes financial tasks including invoicing, raising POs and administer grant agreements
* Manages the logistical arrangements for project events and meetings
* Supports the delivery of outputs and client reporting
* Supports the project manager with the completion of Management Control Checks and risk registers
* Undertakes background research in relevant areas to the project
* Proof reads reports
People Management
* Ability to work within a diverse team
* Supports logistical management of colleagues including team leaders and associates
Business Development
* Supports logistical management of positioning events
* Support the preparation of proposals and business cases through analysis of sector specific areas, partner and consultant research, collecting and collating partner due diligence and compliance documentation, supporting internal and external compliance
Commercial Business management
* Supports Consultants in drafting business performance reports (including income, cost management, results and impact, risks etc)
* Support the Consultant in monitoring the Income & Expenditure accounts for their individual projects
Stakeholder Management
* Supports broader team in managing the logistics of client/partner meetings and project boards
* Engagement with customers e.g. scholars, grant awardees, teachers etc
Continuous improvement
* Administrative support to build capability and share good practice
* Using evidence and learning to inform future practice
Skills:

Experience of relevant elements of Grant Management such as financial capacity checking, quality assessment, budget checking, final reporting.
Experience of schools/youth/higher education sector(s)
Managed relationships effectively with a variety of stakeholders, including Senior Managers
Delivered products and services in line with agreed standards.
Using Technology (Level 2) - Ability to use information systems, digital and office technology: able with adjustments if necessary, to use office software and British Council systems to do the job and manage documents or processes.
Application administration: completion of eligibility, financial checks and quality of grant applications, maintaining systems and information grant applicants of progress.
Project monitoring and reporting: monitoring compliance of projects against European Commission, Department of Education and client guidelines to grant holders as well as reviewing quality and supporting evidence of grant holders.
Financial administration: reconciling grant awards, including assessing invoice and receipt standards, raising payments through SAP and data entry and record keeping.
Compliance: ensuing programme beneficiaries adhere to the grand funders and regulations.
Time Management: working to deadlines to meet contractual requirements.
Problem solving: being able to solve problems and think critically are key skills for the role.
