Psychology Graduate/Undergraduate - School Learning Support

* Would you like to have a paid opportunity to experience working in primary or secondary schools before pursuing a career in teaching?

Academics have a number of opportunities for psychology graduates and undergraduates in an educational setting across the Cardiff and Vale. The opportunities include teaching assistant positions and 1:1 support work in both primary and secondary schools. Full or part time, short or long term and can be flexibly worked around university or other commitments if required.

Key responsibilities include:

Working with and providing support to children with SEN (Special Educational Needs)
Experience of supporting pupils
The willingness to provide an environment in which pupils can reach their full potential
The ability to build rapports with the children, supporting their social and behavioural needs, and acting as a mentor

To be considered for the positions we have available, you will have a genuine interest in working with children and young people and will be strongly considering a career within the psychology/education sector. You will have exceptional communication skills and be able to effectively build working relationships with both pupils and staff members. The ability to adapt successfully to different educational settings and work requirements is also important. You will be confident and able to assertively deal with challenging behaviour in order to ensure positive learning outcomes are achieved
