Clinical Team Secretary/Administrator
£20,330-£21,777 (AfC Band 3)
37.5 Hours per week
Based: Talking Changes, Lanchester Road Hospital, Durham
Talking Changes is a Primary Care Mental Health service operating across the County Durham and Darlington area. We provide psychological input to patients suffering from mild to moderate depression and anxiety as well as other common mental health issues. The service is ran in partnership with Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust, Mental Health Matters and Sunderland Counselling Service.
About the role
You will deal with both incoming and outgoing telephone calls, incoming and outgoing post, data entry, ordering and receipting of stationary and aspects of diary management for patient appointment booking as well as welcoming visitors to the site as part of day-to-day reception duties.
You may also be required to provide administrative support to locality Team Managers/Senior Therapists and attend team meetings for the purpose of minute taking.
About you
You will ideally have an awareness of mental health issues and will be able to demonstrate a caring and sensitive approach to their work. You will have an eye for detail and a high degree of accuracy. You will be able to effectively and clearly communicate with colleagues, service users and their families.
We are looking to employ a hardworking, conscientious individual who will work with our existing team of administrators in a busy patient facing environment.
As a team player, you''ll be able to prioritise your work in order to meet deadlines and have a customer focused approach. Previous experience of working within the NHS is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration or equivalent (or willingness to achieve within an agreed timescale) Good standard of English and Mathematics; experience of working in a busy administrative environment; proficient in the use of MSOffice with experience of patient records systems.
Experience of working within a mental health services setting would be advantageous but not essential.
