Job Description
Vision Teaching are currently supporting a primary alternative provision based in New Malden. This organised provision are looking for a behaviour support specialist, to join their experienced team. This provision works with pupils who are at risk of exclusion and children attend 2-3 days per week whilst remaining on roll and attending their mainstream schools. You will be part of a small, close knit team who are highly experienced. Pupil numbers will not be higher than 8 per day.
This is a full time role, 5 days a week and will last for the duration of the academic year. They are looking for a behaviour specialist with training in de-escalation and positive handling and experience of working in a specialist setting for pupils with SEMH / challenging behaviour. An understanding of the nurture principles and best practice for pupils with additional needs/SEND.
Specialist Behaviour Support
Experienced working with primary pupils with SEMH and SEN
Experience of best practice working with challenging behaviour
Ideally with experience in a PRU/Special school setting
Understanding of primary curriculum and differentiation
Ability to coach and train support staff in best practice around SEMHThis is initially a temporary contract but this could lead to a permanent contract.
