Job Description
Working in a class based environment to support some of the most vulnerable children in Surrey, who have been through significant trauma. Working alongside some of Surrey''s best teachers in a supportive environment.
Giving pupils skills to allow them to gain independence and aiming to ensure they do not enter the criminal justice system. This role is about supporting, guiding and showing them a new way to embrace learning, to value education and preparing them for life out of school.
Empathy and patience are key in this role - the seeds you plant to aid students in their behaviour will often not be apparent, as you will be contributing to what is a long process. There are no magic answers or miracle cures.
Children in the school present with social, emotional and mental health difficulties (SEMH) often struggling to manage their emotions and behaviour and as a result, they find it difficult to make and sustain relationships with adults and peers. These difficulties may present as withdrawal and isolation, as well as challenging, disruptive or other concerning behaviour. These children often struggle to engage in a learning environment, frequently display inappropriate behaviour and therefore benefit from additional support in order to achieve their potential.

5 days a week, working 1:1 and in small groups within the classroom
Teamwork is hugely important to this role working with your fellow class teacher
Graduates and non-Graduates are welcome
