At Teaching Personnel, we are currently working with a SEN school that are in need of nurturing, empathetic Teaching Assistants to support their SEN students in their learning and development. This school offers a nurturing environment for pupils, with severe emotional and social difficulties, working in Key Stages 2, 3, 4 and 5. This school caters for a wide range of special educational needs, including the following:

Autistic Spectrum Disorder, including Asperger''s Syndrom
Dyspraxia
Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
Specific Learning Difficulties, i.e. Dyslexia
Speech and Language Disorder
Specifically, this school is situated in Moseley. They continually strive to further develop their educational offer! Direct experience in a school setting is not essential for this role, but the successful candidate must be resilient to a challenge with great problem solving skills. This is a great opportunity for anyone wanting to pursue a career in the education sector with a background and understanding of Psychology.

What does the role entail?

Assisting the teacher planning and delivering lessons
Supporting the SEN student with their learning, as well as their social, mental and emotional needs
Problem solving daily problems efficiently
Applying skills from a psychology background
What are we looking for?

Experience - whether that be personal or within a school, working with SEN students (not essential but desirable)
Empathetic, patient individual
Passion for education and making an impact
Degree in Psychology (not essential but desirable)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
