Job description for Graduate Engineer
I have an exciting opportunity for a Graduate Setting Out Engineer to join a busy family-owned Civil Engineering contractor, with a long standing reputation for looking after and investing in their staff.
The ideal candidate will be HNC/D or Degree qualified and live within approximately 1 hour of their Buckingham regional office and have at least 3-4 years project experience. The role will be site-based, and you will be reporting to a Site Agent.
The role offers an attractive package to accompany the salary- this is a fantastic opportunity to work for a mid-sized contractor, who undertake a wide variety of works within the industry. Below is a generic job description, this will be tailored depending on the experience of the individual.
With this role, the company are looking to invest in someone on a long-term basis, and help them to develop their skill set. Experience in setting out is highly preferable-ideally at least a year on site using Total Stations/Lazer Levels, profiles etc. Ideally you will have completed a period on site during your studying, working alongside a more experienced Engineer.
Qualifications (Preferred):
HNC/D or Degree in Civils and one year as an Assistant Engineer.
Experience in the use of CAD software.
CSCS Professional/Manager''s Card (Not Essential).
The role (dependant on experience): Graduate Engineer
To receive all drawings and information and set out sites in accordance with same.
To provide all necessary as built drawings and information.
To provide all calculations in respect of quantities, temporary works and statutory authorities.
To plot information from and to survey equipment.
Undertake survey works - pre-commencement and upon completion.
Document control of on-site drawings and drawing register.
To keep measuring equipment in a suitable condition for accurate measurement.
To identify design errors before implementation on site and liaise with designers to overcome any identified issues.

Problem Solving and effective time management.
