Job Description

NXTGEN have an outstanding opportunity for a Financial Controller to join a hugely impressive, global organisation with a head office in Peterborough. This is high profile, newly created and business critical Financial Controller position, in which you will take responsibility for technical submissions for subsidiary accounts as well as evaluating potential financial risks. You will work closely with internal and external auditors to deliver the necessary changes to reporting processes to ensure appropriate compliance with the Financial Control Framework. As Financial Controller you will have ownership for the business unit balance sheet and financial forecasts, working with stakeholders to ensure the organisation is on track to achieve it''s financial objectives. Key responsibilities within this Financial Controller role will include:

Lead on the preparation of subsidiary financial accounts and technical submissions
Ownership for all regulatory reporting including revenue recognition, IFRS9 and IFRS16 accounting
Lead on all overhead and capital reporting, identifying opportunities for cost saving and efficiencies as well as maximising ROI on Capex projects
Derivative accounting and control
Review adherence with the Financial Control Framework and ensure compliance with all UK SOX regulations
Lead on the annual audit delivery, acting as the key point of contact with both internal and external audit teamThe successful candidate will be fully qualified (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with a strong technical accounting background. Prior experience gained within a leading accountancy firm would be significantly advantageous and candidates will need to demonstrate excellent IFRS knowledge, including IFRS9 & IFRS16. You will be confident in all aspects of financial control, constantly seeking opportunities to improve processes to mitigate financial risk. In this high profile position, a proven background presenting to the executive team is essential combined with the ability to influence financial strategy. Excellent communication skills are a must as you build relationships with stakeholders across a variety of business units and the wider group. It is expected that the successful candidate will be required to travel to other UK sites within this role. Hybrid working is available within the role.
