In-house Motor Engineer
Haywards Heath
Salary £35000 depending on experience plus very good benefits
37.5 hours a week Monday to Friday 9am to 5:30pm - will be a mix of office and work from home. We would expect the job holder to initially be in the office for a few weeks for support and training.
We are seeking proven experience in a motor vehicle estimating / engineering motor background for this role - along with:
Strong knowledge of motor repairs and vehicles
Good negotiation skills and can build working relationships
IAEA Membership or working towards one
The role:
The Engineering Team is responsible for the management of Motor Claims spend and delivering exceptional quality of service to customers both internal and external.
The role will be to ensure that motor vehicles which are subject to a motor claim are repaired to their pre accident condition by using the most appropriate methods at the correct cost, accurately valuing and categorising vehicles if they are deemed beyond economical repair or are stolen and unrecovered
Responsibilities / duties:
Negotiate settlement of motor vehicles
Liaise directly with customers
Audit and evaluate performance of repairer, making recommendations regarding repair quality, repair costs and customer service
In the management of non-approved repairers, provide a complete triage solution
Build and maintain professional working relationships with a range of suppliers
Provide technical guidance to the claims teams
Communicate effectively and appropriately with repairers and customers / third parties.
Identify any fraudulent activity through investigative practice and liaison with claims colleagues
Support all aspects of the business in order to assist in the claims process
Ensure work is carried out within agreed KPI''s and SLA''s
Experience & knowledge required:
Proven experience of working in a motor vehicle estimating / motor engineering environment
Solid Claims Knowledge
Competent understanding of insurance principals
Extensive vehicle make up knowledge
A comprehensive knowledge of motor vehicles, repair techniques, estimating methods, technology and equipment used in the vehicle repair environment.
Membership (or working towards membership) of the IAEA.
