Senior Interior Designer

An established family-run design and build consultancy, primarily focusing on commercial fit outs, are seeking a creative conceptual interior designer. This is a fantastic opportunity for a driven individual who wants to build a creative team of designers around them. The company is growing and part of its ambitious growth plans would like to grow the design team to five people in the next two years. Currently a large proportion of design is outsourced and they are seeking to bring this in house.

Role summary:

This is a customer facing position where the interior designer will accompany the sales and project directors to customer meetings to understand the brief and come up with innovative and interesting conceptual designs that are going to wow and delight the customer. The projects are all over the UK and it envisaged the designer will spend a day or two a week meeting customers, a day or two working from home and ideally a day or two a week in Sheffield with the team at HQ.

It is likely that the designer will be working on a multiple projects at various stages of the project lifecycle. Typical project values are between £250,000 to £1,000,000

Requirements

* Proven experience as an interior designer.

* Consistently bringing great, fresh ideas to the team that are project appropriate, captures the look and attitude and articulates why they feel it meets the needs

* A great flair for innovative design but commercially (and budget) aware.

* A great track record of converting winning concept designs to project go ahead.

* Has proven capability to troubleshoot problems on site and make quality recommendations to correct and move project forward without compromising design intent.

* Relevant design and build knowledge for end users and someone with good experience talking to customers

* A high level of professional integrity by taking pride, ownership and responsibility for own work as well as team member''s work.
