Job Description

Balconette design, manufacture and supply simple but elegant and aesthetic glass balconies are seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to manage the planning and delivering of products to customers in the most efficient and effective way. Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the management of the Logistics team.

This is an excellent opportunity for an analytical, well-organized person that excels in communication and put the customer first. The role requires excellent administration and planning skills and have great logistics procedures knowledge. Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work well as part of a team, as well as effectively deal with customers and manage suppliers and staff.

Responsibility

* Liaise with customer as to delivery/shipping requirements, agrees collection/pick up dates

* Liaise with manufacturing and despatch department to ensure accurate information is available to plan deliveries and respond to customer queries.

* Plan and manage customer collections

* Use software to track, check, prioritize and route orders

* Manage documents such as delivery notes, address labels, manifests from multiple shipping companies and company deliveries

* Inspect labels and ensure the correct number of parcels of completed orders

* Supervise loading onto vehicles to make sure that correct number of boxes is placed as per manifest and the correct labels are fixed to ensure correct product is delivered

* Monitoring deliveries and liaising with the Production Manager regarding any customer delays or issues

* Obtains Proof of Delivery for orders dispatched from suppliers and verify supplier invoices against supplier price lists or quotes

* Deals with any customer invoice errors, credits and claims

* Plan and manage staff resources according to changing needs

* Control budget of the logistics department

* Resolve internal and external issues regarding shipped orders

* Ensure compliance to legal regulations and company policies

* Provide a monthly report on department performance and plans

Requirements

* Proven experience as Shipping Manager with clear understanding of the UK logistics operations

* Solid knowledge of logistics procedures and dealing with parcel couriers and pallet networks

* Ability to assess, review and implement process to ensure continuous improvements

* Good understanding of budgeting and cost control

* Excellent negotiator and ability to manage multiple suppliers

* Establish and control supplier relationship by implementing and monitoring performance against SLA''s

* Experience in directing and evaluating subordinates

* Excellent organizational and communication skills

* Attention to detail

* Problem-solving abilities

* Computer literate with excellent knowledge of MS Office
