Purpose of the role

We are looking for a dynamic spec tech to join our technical team in progressive industry of plant-based foods. Working from our Skelmersdale location but being part of the site team as well as a dynamic part of the bigger group

Stakeholders and Customers

* Liaise regularly with retail customers (primarily Technologists/Technical Managers and Buyers).

* Close working relationship with our customers wider service teams i.e. Artwork houses and spec checking companies e.g. Ashbury Labelling Services, as required.

Team Management

Report directly to Technical Manager

Core Business Responsibilities

* An understanding of specifications and artwork on multiple platforms

* The ability to easily to keep up with the busy pace of a thriving business.

* Work closely with commercial and NPD to ensure specifications/artwork are completed/reviewed within timelines and accurate.

* The ability to work to tight deadlines for artwork and specs.

* Manage with the support of the Technical Manager, Specifications and Artwork processes for all retail/foodservice customers.

* Monitor and maintain customer KPI records for all customers and provide reports for both AMFRESH and AMC ND/ICFC on a regular weekly and monthly basis to ensure all key personnel are kept up to date with key performance trends.

* Liaise with AMC ND/ICFC and customer service departments to collect customer complaint information to ensure thorough investigations can be undertaken as necessary.

* Understand and support with delivery of launch critical paths

* Support with technical administration as required

* Maintain database of raw material and packaging specs and assist with supplier approval documentation as required.

* Attend internal sampling/benchmarking sessions as required.

* Attend customer/spec review meetings as required

* Maintain product portfolios and label books as required

* Organise chemical analysis submissions with accurate forms as required.

* Deputise when other team members/manager is on holiday

* Other aspects of the role as part of the technical remit will be:

GMPs, Internal Audits and elements of BRC Compliance.
