Freight Forwarding Clerk

We are now looking for a Freight Forwarding Operations Executive for a growing shipping and logistics company based in the North West, Preston.

Our client is a well-established freight forwarder. You will join a team of 6 staff in the UK and a back office of 23 people.

This freight forwarding company provides a one stop solution for their customer''s logistics requirements with an excellent one to one personal service. They endeavour to support their customer''s growing logistics requirements with the best technical and software solutions and in the most eco-friendly way. With the expertise and support of their staff, they are capable of finding solutions to their customers ever-changing logistics requirements.

We are welcoming candidates who have had some previous freight/manufacturing/logistics experience but we will also look at candidates who have no freight experience but keen to learn and progress so no experience is needed in freight forwarding as training will be provided.
You will have office skills, have experience of dealing with customers, suppliers and have excellent IT skills

You need an outgoing personality, keen to learn and confident be the voice for their customer when it comes to shipping needs.

Duties include:
1. Dealing with overseas agents, shipping lines and haulers.
2. Dealing with customers and HMRC.
3. Shipment quotes; negotiating and billing.
4. Customer service.
5. Day to day operations.

Salary is starting at £19k with the view of increasing as the individuals are trained
37.5 hours 9am till 5:30 pm with one hour for lunch
