Are you a Licensed Animal Technician looking for the opportunity to join a friendly, exciting and hardworking company?

We are working alongside our client, who focuses on the development of treatments for serious diseases such as diseases of the eye, salivary gland, and central nervous system diseases. They are looking for a Licensed Animal Technician to join their growing team in London.

The purpose of this role is to support of in vivo experiments and assist with wet lab activities in the R&D department.

Your main duties will include:

* The recognition, reporting, and resolution of any impact on the health and well-being of the animals

* The provision of food, water and environmental enrichment

* The monitoring and general upkeep of all the animal facilities

* Performance of animal procedures assessing vision in mouse models of retinal diseases

* Drug administration including gavage, intraperitoneal (IP) and intraocular delivery

* Tissue collection and tissue processing for histological and molecular analysis

* Maintenance of animal stocks

Experience

* A levels or BTech in any Science/Biological subjects

* Current holder of home office-approved animal license (PIL A, B, C)

* At least 2-3 years'' experience of working with laboratory animals, preferably with mice

* Hands-on experience with mouse models of disease

* Experience with ophthalmic mouse procedures and basic molecular & cell biology techniques (e.g. PCRs, cell/tissue culture) to support the R&D wet-lab activities would be advantageous but is not a requirement
