Please note: These part time roles attract a salary of £16,622 plus a Recruitment Retention Allowance (RRA) of £1,622 (£18,244 in total) for a 30 hours working week.

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our British Forces Postal Office (BFPO) team in a part-time, entry-level position. We will provide you with the training required to develop your skill set, and the experience to equip you for a successful career!

You''ll help ensure that the armed forces mail is handled in a secure, safe, and timely fashion and be responsible for ensuring the correct receipting, sorting, dispatch, and delivery of all types of mail in a secure, logical, and methodical manner.

The BFPO is dedicated to providing postal and courier services to the UK Armed Forces, Ministry of Defence (MOD) and Other Government Departments (OGDs) and is a renowned brand across Defence. Working collaboratively across 11 sites in the UK to deliver personal, official, and classified mail to over 650 locations across the globe; keeping our Armed Forces, MOD and OGDs connected through a range of services that play a vital role in sustaining morale and operational effectiveness.

The posts require 100% site attendance. You will be required to work Monday to Friday for a total of 30 hours per week, between the hours of 07:30 - 15:30. Some additional hours or flexible working may be required.

Responsibilities
In this role, you will be entrusted with:

Maintaining the flow of mail into and out of the Delivery Mail Centre
Loading and unloading mail from containers, vehicles, or other transport mediums
Sorting and despatching mail both internally and externally
Delivering mail to the site and surrounding area, either by foot or vehicle
Auditing, recording, and maintaining accurate accounts documentation
Managing location security, including vault security, maintenance, and operation of key registers
Conducting item security and account balancing and reconciliation up to three times daily
Following set processes when dealing with prohibited and restricted mail items and all mail irregularities, including damaged, broken, or loose items/bags and box returns
