Job Description

Horizon Teachers is seeking an enthusiastic qualified teacher for a Deputy Director of English role for a great Secondary School in Merton, South-West London. Why this role?

The Successful Candidate will have:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (or equivalent)
  • The ability to teach across Key stage 3 to 5
  • Knowledge and experience of writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing students work
  • An understanding of inclusive provision and practices, which offer equality of access to the curriculum for all students, including special educational needs, English as an additional language and high achievers.
Key Responsibilities:
  • To assist the Director of English with all tasks
  • To be accountable for student progress and development throughout their learning, including meeting student achievement targets
  • To ensure the provision of an appropriately broad, balanced, relevant, and differentiated curriculum for students
  • To assist the Director of English to effectively and efficiently manage and deploy teaching/support staff, financial and physical resources
  • To assist the Director of English in leading and resourcing whole school numeracy
