Procurement Manager / Purchasing manager / Buyer FMCG - £45,000 - 55,000 DOE

My Client is looking to recruit an experienced Procurement Manager / Buyer to work at their site based in Bristol. This company is one of the fastest growing Food/Drink Manufacturers in the UK within their specialist field. This role is suitable for an experienced, energetic raw materials buyer, ideally with experience within the food industry or similar environment
You will have the opportunity to prosper in this role and your team as you see fit, your influence will make a difference. Your key role will be to ensure that the company purchases the right standard at the lowest price and secures better quality or better priced materials and services, along with this you will develop and execute long term supplier strategies making it your goal to improve the cost and quality of materials acquired across the business.

Your main responsibilities in this role will be to
Focus the team on the key areas of purchasing opportunity and risk
Product Forecasting - working with the sales team and factory manager to control stock levels with consideration for product shelf life, drive efficiencies in production planning and keeping customer lead-times to a minimum
Ethanol reconciliation and control including the procedural updates in line with HMRC
Secure competitive advantage through sourcing better quality or better priced materials
Work closely with NPD on sourcing quality and best prices
Work closely with Finance to ensure we use and report on the latest accurate, correctly priced material volumes and values
Lead the implementation of better, efficient purchasing systems

Key Skills Required:
A proven track record of procurement and management experience (essential)
Experienced in customs clearance and import procedures
Are experienced in managing suppliers and building strong partnerships
FMCG background
Ability to understand and influence key financial purchasing issues and senior team members
Ability to explain, present and influence in a clear, concise, compelling and consistent manner
Ability to plan, prioritise and delegate to achieve deadlines
Ability to make difficult decisions
Knowledge of the key market commodities, the processes and the major suppliers
Excellent, clear and concise communication skills

The successful client will have probably worked previously as a Procurement Manager, Purchasing Manager, Senior Buyer, Category Specialist, Sourcing Specialist, Category Manager, Sourcing Manager, Purchasing Specialist, Purchasing Manager, Procurement Manager or similar
