Key Responsibilities:
Leadership and communication:
Lead by setting a good example
Act as an interface between the team and others in the business
Clear delivery of key messages to the team (including an explanation of any goals, plans and roles)
Manage recruitment with the assistance of HR; ensuring a successful induction process for new starters
Objectives/Goal Setting:
Clearly communicate required tasks, agree deadlines and monitor achievement
Set and agree on SMART objectives for individuals/teams and monitor performance against these
Performance Management and Training:
Manage and conduct appraisal process with team members
Provide regular constructive feedback to individuals and the team regarding their performance Address performance issues quickly, candidly, and constructively
Manage capability and conduct issues and develop opportunities for the team
Absence management with company policy; to include sickness and annual leave
Responsible for HSE compliance and improvement activities for the Team.
Team Specific Responsibilities:
Manage the purchasing process (demand generation, PO generation and approval, expedition
etc.)
Manage stock ROP/supplier lead times to ensure materials available for production as
required
Monitor & improve supplier performance (quality, service, cost and delivery)
Maintain supplier and part records on ERP system
Identify and deliver cost reduction opportunities
Research new products, services & suppliers to meet company strategies and goals
Accurately maintain the supplier database
Develop and implement strategies for procuring, storing and distributing goods and
maintaining stock levels
Ensure supply chains are sustainable and ethical
Liaise with internal stakeholders (sales, production) to deal with supply issues
Qualifications & Experience:
Must be CIPS qualified/working towards
Demonstrable experience as a Procurement Manager or similar role
Demonstrable supervisory or people management experience
Desirable:
A level of experience and understanding of filters, their performance, and their operating environment
Experience in a manufacturing environment
Skills & Experience:
Organisational Skills - personal efficiency, time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands
Communication & Interpersonal Skills - leading the team, managing diverse personalities and points of view with the ability to build relationships and collaborate with others
Commercial Acumen - the ability to understand company finances, resourcing,
