Role Profile

Our client is a leading manufacturing business in the Birmingham area looking to appoint a Buyer into their busy Purchasing team to manage specific categories and work on tender processes.
You will be responsible for the purchasing of a variety of direct and indirect areas of spend, working cross-functionally and confirming tender processes. You will be able to demonstrate a good grounding in a busy function and thrive in sophisticated and growing purchasing environment.

CIPS study supported.

Key responsibilities

Issue RFQs and evaluate supplier responses
Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers
Issue purchase orders and expedite deliveries
Maintain accurate purchasing data within the ERP system

Skills & Experience

The successful candidate will have:

Experience in manufacturing environments, ideally working with highly compliant products and processes
Confidence to negotiate terms with suppliers and manage stakeholder relationships at all levels of the business
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong systems skills and good attention to detail
