A leading provider of Office Space and Industrial Units near Woking are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician. You would be responsible for maintaining the interior and exterior of each building in a tidy and fully working condition whilst promoting good customer satisfaction. You will undertake general handyperson tasks and carry out safety reviews to ensure the buildings are safe and well maintained. You will assist the Facilities Manager in identifying areas that may require specialist maintenance or repair and will be responsible for liaising with the on-site team to promote good customer relationships and ongoing client care by observing all health and safety guidelines, carrying out safety tests as well as general maintenance around the site.

Duties for the role of Facilities Maintenance Technician include:

• Ensure all maintenance and repair tasks are completed to a high standard with minimal disruption to tenants and visitors.
• Cary out ad-hoc internal decoration of common accessible areas as required, to a high standard.
• Liaise with the Facilities Manager regarding visits by service contractors, e.g. drain & gulley clearing, door maintenance, refuse collection, etc.
• To assist with, and carry out where necessary, the Health & Safety Management strategy for the site including daily internal and external building checks to ensure the site is safe, clean, secure and fit for normal use and reporting unrepairable defects to management.
• To assist with the Fire Safety Management strategy for buildings including regular fire bell tests and checks on fire doors and systems. Additionally, undertaking regular emergency lighting checks and supporting fire evacuation drills.
• Assisting with details of the maintenance budget and in the absence of the Facilities Manager, take the lead and keep suitable records.
• Carry out regular meter readings for electricity and gas as required and present a written meter readings report to the Facilities Manager.
• Maintenance of the heating systems & basic plumbing repairs, including checking of boilers.
• Ensure all tools and equipment are properly maintained, repaired as necessary, cared for according to manufacturer s instructions and that all safety instructions/regulations are followed.
• To meet compliance with HSE Guidance, to carry out regular flushing of water outlets and water temperature checks.
• Basic fault diagnosis around the buildings as well as general maintenance around the site.
• For all the above, ensuring accurate and legible information is recorded.

Key Skills Requirements/Qualifications for the role of Facilities Maintenance Technician include:

• Good understanding of building services including heating, hot & cold water distribution, ventilation, electrical distribution and plumbing.
• Extensive knowledge of DIY or building maintenance/electrical/plumbing qualification.
• Ability to achieve consistently high maintenance standards.
• Previous experience in maintenance and working with contractors would be advantageous.
• Basic knowledge of Health & Safety regulations, statutory requirements and procedures.
• Self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills to build relationship with tenants.
• Friendly and approachable, you can work flexibly with team members to meet site demands.
• Accurate control of parts inventory and overseeing repairs.
• Working on call, as and when required, to support the estate management and tenants.
• Possession of a clean drivi
