Effective listening A Learning Support Assistant (LSA) helps children and young people who need extra support within the classroom, to ensure that children with barriers to learning can access the same level of education as their peers. The LSA''s main role is to provide support for pupils with special educational needs (SEN). The LSA will ensure that the student can participate as fully as possible in the activities undertaken by their peers in order to make progress within their education.

The details:

Pay: £70-80 per day
Hours: 8:30-15:30
Start date: September 2022What is involved:

Supervising and maintaining the pupil''s behaviour for learning throughout their lessons
Supporting the pupil''s understanding and participation in their classes
Assisting with note taking
A secondary LSA will have exposure to all the curriculum subjects
You may work with individual learners in the classroom 1:1 or you may work with individuals or small groups in the Learning Support department.
Supporting the pupil''s individual needs, according to their Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP)
Participating in team meetings and Continual Professional Development (CPD) training provided by the school as an active member of a team
Maintaining pupil progress records
Supporting regulations pertaining to safeguarding ()What is required:

Experience working with children - experience of SEN preferred but not essential
Good general education levels in Maths and English
Good interpersonal and communication skills
A commitment to your input into children''s education
A passion for inclusivity to ensure all children have an equal access to a quality education
